Week 4 continued...

Our project manager just contacted us and it looks like we will possibly be able to move up our closing date to June 12th! That is great as we will then probably be able to have Jaeda's birthday there. We went and showed Lily, George and Cara our place yesterday. As usual there were many neighbors out and about so we got to meet another family in the cul de sac. The husband Craig is a Principal at a school on Mercer Island. They have two boys one 5 who goes to Apollo Elementary up the road and loves it, and a almost 3 year old who stays home with Craig's wife who we havn't met yet. That was another thing that I thought was great was that we have seen many dad's out taking their kids to the park or out on their bikes. I love that!

Building week 1

Our new house broke ground on Friday. Friday Feb. 13th. We went yesterday to take a couple photos because we are planning on doing some time lapse photography as it is being built. Everytime I visit this neighborhood I am amazed by the neighborly feel. We had already met the husband of the couple who are out direct neighbors before we decided to buy. This was back two days before Thanksgiving. He was planning on moving in the next day and was finishing up some of his own painting so he graciously let us in to see his new home. He was so proud of how he had customized his bathroom and had so many nice things to say about CamWest (the builder). Yesterday as we had parked in front of our lot he and his wife came out and we talked for quite a while. They are so nice. They are probably a little older than my parents (in their 50's). The wife, Fran, stays home and takes care of her granddaughter 3 days a week who is 18months. They also have another granddaughter who is 4 but goes to preschool. The husband, Gary, works at Boeing. As we were standing outside talking to them the neighbor across the street came out as he was taking his daughter to the park. His name was Steve and he works at Microsoft (potential carpooler for Tim :)). Their daughter Marley is less than a month younger than Kaia! Very cute and smart girl. Both neighbors pointed out two other stay at home moms very close to our house that also have kids in the same age range. I am so impressed and look forward to getting to know everyone better. I love that people are out and about and talking to one another. Fran even though she is older was so nice and I found talking to her very easy.

New House!

There are a lot of details that would be hard to recall in our discovery of our new community but here it is. Our new house is supposed to be finished building in July 2009. We close on the sale of our current house March 2nd 2009. We decided on Shamrock Heights in east Renton Highlands and here is why! -many families with the same aged kids as ours. -awesome community park. -dog owners -flat cul de sac and many sidewalks in a dead end road -walking distance to a specialty meat shop and small produce shop -walking distance to horses -a community organizer who puts on bbq's and events in the park -affordable -closer to many cousins -green built homes and community We decided on the Shaw floor plan with the third floor loft. I plan on documenting our houses arrival on this blog. Ground Breaking date has yet to be determined as of today. I am so excited!!

I may be back to Blogger....we will see.

I like the layout of my blogger page so I thought I would try it out again.
